Implementing the code

The Self-Audit process revealed 5 main areas in which Code Compliance may be a challenge by IFs and IOSDs. These areas are:

•  Definition and clearly stated purpose of classification is often missing (2.1.1; 2.1.2)
•  Eligibility types/criteria are not well defined (2.1.2-5)
•  Protest and Appeal procedures are not well-defined, as well as occasional challenges to differentiate protests and appeals are found (8.1; 8.2)
•  Almost no IFs / IOSDs have a ruling on failure to attend classification, non-co-operation during assessment, intentional misrepresentation (9-11)
•  Classifier criteria and training and certification pathways are not well defined (3)
