IPC Classification Code

A critical issue in the Code is the use of a common language. The language of the Code is derived from the International Classification of Functioning, Impairment and Health, published in 2001 by the WHO. The advantage of using an international standard is that the definition of key terms such as impairment and activity limitation is clear, unambiguous and internationally accepted.

All classification rules must use the WHO language and use classification-specific terms as defined in the Code
